Taking a mental health day... or month. 💗 I’ Taking a mental health day... or month. 💗

I’ve been absent this past month to take care of my mental health while struggling with postpartum depression. I’m working on an episode to talk openly about my own (and many other women’s) experience becoming a mother and all of the challenges that come along with it. The more we normalize the heavy parts, the lighter they will feel.

But until then, here is my reminder that it’s ok to take care of yourself. It’s ok to say “no”, “not anymore”, or “not right right now”. Those who truly care about you and your well-being will understand, especially if you open up to them about your need to take care of your mental health. Anyone who doesn’t respect your choice to care for your mental health is not worth your energy.

Prioritize your mental health. Take care of yourself. You can’t pour from on empty cup. 💕

We’ve been through so much change in 2020, including our bodies. We haven’t been as active as we usually are and gyms have been closed.

Aiming to be healthy is a great goal, but don’t hurt yourself in the process.
